Even MORE Summer!

Just Lola and Ray being cute! My favorite is the picture of them trying so hard to make pig faces.
One of our favorite things to do this summer was go to Gardner village and feed the ducks. We usually went after hours and could get every single duck to come to us, kinda freaked me out, I am totally afraid of birds of all kinds! The kids were thrilled about it though. when we left this day we were about ten feet away from our car when Ray face planted and he and I were covered in blood, I swear that kid gets hurt more than anyone I know!
We also watched my Nephew a couple of times a week, my kids were in love with him. He is so cute. Lola cracks me up in these pictures, she is wearing part of her Halloween costume from last year and an infant headband. She is so particular about things, especially when it comes to what she is wearing.
We sure were sad when our baby sitting days ended, now Baby Stace gets tended by his Grandma who lives much closer to him. Lola Still talks about him almost everyday. We miss you buddy!Posted by Picasa

More Summer!

We went to several parades, had the kids faces painted a few times, the face painters are so quick and it only costs a .50 cents. They pump the kids in and out in a minute or less. I was seriously considering being a face painter for a second after we left, Tony thinks I'm silly! ($30 bucks an hour, and the line of kids NEVER stops!) Not to shabby to be a Carni worker!
I was watching my sisters kids, they were all in Lola and Rays room and it got really quiet, so I thought I better go see what kind of mess they had made and was pleasantly surprised to find them all dressed up in hats and mittens, actually got me pretty excited for winter, I love winter hats. Ray really grew up this summer, he all of the sudden knew how to play with the BIG kids, crazy how time flies!
Lola started Preschool this year and really Loves it, she goes with one of her favorite friends Aspen so that is extra fun for her. She is really doing well, she can write her name and knows most of her letters and some of the sounds. I am happy she is excited about learning.

Some funnies....

Lola has been saying some pretty good stuff lately so I thought I better document them before I forget.

A few weeks ago we were driving home from my Sister Chellese's . Lola was whining and crying the entire ride, when we were getting off our exit she said, "Mom, am I being naughty?" I replied, "no" then she said, "Then what am I doing?" I laughed and said, "your just really tired!" It made me laugh, she is all girl and trying to figure out all those emotions is pretty tough for a little person!

Last week I spent a good portion of the morning on the phone with our insurance company, which means my kids got ignored and the house in turn got destroyed. I had given the kids both a gingerbread cookie on a stick, that I knew they wouldn't eat (they don't like baked goodies only candy!) but like I said, I was on the phone and I wanted to not be bothered. A few minutes later I was put on hold and I hear this from the other room-

Lola- "Oh great Ray, look what we've done, we have created a complete disaster! This house is a disaster! We have done exactly what our Dad doesn't want us to do, we better clean this up, so he doesn't get mad!" There were cookie crumbs all over the place!

Lola was going to the bathroom the other day, and asked me to help her wipe, when I came in she said, " I am exhausted!"

Lola has been drawing about 20 pictures a day and posting them all over the fridge, some of them are several papers on top of each other and the magnets just can't keep up with her artistic abilities and speed. She also has been asking for lots of pieces of tape to compensate for lack of magnets, her paper ends up looking like a wadded up ball with tape covering the entire thing then she gets one long strip to hang it to the fridge, It looks nice, real nice! Lola not only colors on paper, but scrap wood we have from all the projects around the house. A few days ago Lola came up to me with a very colorful board and asked if she could measure me (it was only about 2 feet long) then she held it up to herself and said, "It's only half the size of what I appear!" She is always surprising me with new words, and funny things, I sure love you Lola lady!

Summer things!

I have been the worst blogger! I just wanted to put up some of the pictures from our summer fun, that I didn't want to leave out!

This past summer we spent lots of time on the porch eating Popsicles. Lola spent most of her time wearing dress-up clothes and sparkly gymnastics leotards (She seriously wanted to wear her leotards with every out fit) when Wednesdays gymnastics rolled around she NEVER had a clean one to wear. I just want everyone to take a close look at Rays belly and over all chubbiness in the top middle picture, so cute! He is totally losing all of that and I am so sad, but I still love the little guy too much!

Poor Boy!

Back in July we found out Ray was anemic, not fun! I took him to the Doctor and his blood count was 16, it should be 36 for his age, so We were sent to the ER at Primary children's. Such a scary day for us, especially for Ray. He did so good while they ran all sorts of tests on him and gave him an I.V. (Dang nurse was telling me all the possibilities and the word cancer escaped her lips and I was a mess waiting for the results!) Ray would look up at me touch my cheek and say Mama and I was in tears. He had to have a blood transfusion which took four hours and we didn't get to leave until midnight, such a long day, but we were so relieved to know it was an Iron problem and not cancer or anything Life threatening. We also found out his Iron was low because his body can't break down proteins in Dairy so he wasn't absorbing Iron like he should, so now he drinks Soy milk and takes Iron supplements, all in all an easy switch. Now we are working on getting his numbers back up, last visit he was at 29, we are slowly getting there. I am really thankful for good Doctors and I'm especially thankful for this little guy! Mommy and Daddy couldn't live without you Ray!

Ice Cream Anyone?

Whoa, where did this Summer go?
I can't believe it has taken me this long to post! I kind of need a break from the computer, every now and then. Does anyone else feel like you get sucked into blogging or facebook and then your whole day is gone and you feel like crap, or is it just me? Please say it's not just me! Anyway, these pictures are from a couple of months ago, but I didn't want to leave them out. I took a bunch more, Ray was a complete mess by the end, it was really funny.

update!

I just thought this picture was cute, Lola is cracking us up lately, she always has her hands on her hips, little poser!

LOLA-

Yesterday Lola said to me, "Mom I don't like your butt, because it's a little fat." I said, "well, that's not very nice!" Then she said, "Well, I still like it, it's just fuzzy and weird!" So there you have it, I have a little bit of a fat, fuzzy, weird butt!

Last night I was helping Lola in the bathroom she went potty and then farted, I asked her if she needed to poop, she paused for a moment, tilted her head towards her shoulder and said, " No, I asked my shoulder and I only have to pee!" So now I guess her shoulder is in charge!

RAY-

I just thought I would write down some of the things Ray is doing these days.

He can say:
Mom
Dad
No no
Yes
Wow
Uh oh
Ball
What?
Thank you
Cheese (when I get out the camera)
Meow
Moo
Ruff ruff
Monkey sounds
Gorilla sounds and beats on his cheast
Elephant sound and raises his arm like a trunk
Roars like a Lion

He-
gives high five
blows kisses
goes and gets a diaper for me when he is poopy
finally plays peek-a-boo by covering his eyes instead of his ears like he used to.
can point to his belly, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, and feet when asked.
loves to dance, usually while he is eating!
can't keep rocks out of his mouth, hands and pockets.
still loves to snuggle
loves babies
gives rasberries on any bare skin
is so tender-hearted
is a fast learner
is growing up way too fast!

Tony put him down for a nap, when I went into check on him, I laughed because he is so sneaky with his rocks, I thought it was cute that he was sleeping with it.

We have a Dr. In the House!

So Tony Graduated last weekend, such a exciting day for us! So if any of you out there are in need of some presciption drug help, I hope you will feel free to call Dr. Goulding! I can't believe I have a Doctor in the house, so nice!
Our family with a cute, happy Graduate!
Me and my Dr!
Tony's Parents, they helped us out so much while Tony was in school, thanks!

My Mom and Step Dad, so good to see them there!

Tony's Brother Zach and Sister Sally, we are so glad they came.

Future Pharmacists! Don't they look so smart in Grandma and Grandpa's glasses?!

Graduation Dinner

Just a few pictures from the Dinner. These are some of Tony's school buddies, I'm so glad he has good friends to study with and to hang out with him at school! I got to know their wives too, and I hope we will always be friends (keep in touch), I really love them! I can't believe that School is over for Tony, it really flew by, and life just keeps getting better for us. Tony has made this Pharmacy School thing seem like a piece of cake, he hardly ever showed that he was stressed and he did so well, while at same time he continued to fix up this old house and makes it more beautiful every weekend! I am really luck to have him in my life, and I am excited for him to have a schedule and be home more often and to spend time with him. I am so proud of all he has accomplished while we have been together, he is one of the most talented people I know, he REALLY can do ANYTHING! I LOVE YOU TONE x infinity +1!

Today Lola was sitting on the couch drinking some chocolate milk, she soon decided she didn't want anymore and wanted me to come in and get it from her and set it on the coffee table that is like 2 feet in front of her. I said, "no, I'm not going to get it, your a big girl and you can do it yourself!" Then I returned to the computer to download some pictures, and Lola starts yelling my name to get my attention, (I was trying to ignore her) and I finally turned to her and said, "What? Lola!" She said, "I want to be a baby!?" She is a smart girl! I want to be a baby sometimes too!
Tonight we went out to run some errands and when we got back I noticed that we had left out all the sidewalk chalk on the front porch, it was scattered everywhere. I said to Lola, "you need to clean up all of this chalk, it's a mess!" She said, "No, you clean it up, and I'll make some food o.k?!" While we were out I had said that I needed to fix dinner, so it made me laugh that she thought of that for an excuse, I wish I could have taken her up on it, I wonder what she would have made? hopefully soon I can have a little more help around the house, as of now Lola and Ray are really good at destroying the place!

Kiss them good bye!

She was really excited to get her toncils out!
Lots of family came to see her, but she wasn't feeling so good as you can see!
Fun in the sun!

About a month ago we discovered that Lola had Sleep Apnea and that she needed her tonsils and adenoids out We decided to get it done in Delta because we really like the doctor she goes to there, and I wanted some help giving her lots of attention (GRANDMAS!). She had them out last Wednesday, and she did wonderful! She Looked terrible when I first saw her, her face was really swoolen and her eyes were completley blood shot. I thought she wouldn't do very well, but after a few hours she started eating and as soon as we got to Grandma Goulding's she was asking for Maccaroni and Cheese, she had several servings, she was shoveling it in as fast as she could. She had a few bad moments where she couldn't control her slobber ,it was making her really upset, and she became a little more bossy from all the attention, and wanted lots more snuggling, but I didn't mind. By the time day two rolled around she was running around and dancing up a storm, thanks to cousin Sydney and her dance cd. Since Lola was doing so well we decided to go to the Resivoir for some sand and sun, the kids had a blast, I think Lola could have played in the sand all day, her swimsuit was new, and she really broke it in, I think the sand is permanently embedded in it. (SAD!) I am so thankful for all the help I got with Lola and Ray while we were there, it's so fun to have two sets of Grandparents and lots of cousins to play with everytime we are there. P.S. Lola sounds like a munchkin from the Wizard of Oz ever since she got her tonsils out, pretty funny and cute!

Fast Learner!

I realize more each day that I need to watch what I say around Lola. She picks up on everything! A couple of weeks ago while driving in the car Lola was being really whiny, Tony said to her, "Lola, Pipe it!" she replied, "Pipe yourself!" We both thought it was so funny! We are in for it in her teenage years for sure! Then tonight I was turning on a movie for her (Enchanted, her favorite movie) and I walked in front of the TV a couple of times picking up some toys and such off the floor and I was also talking, Lola turned to me and said, "Mom, will you pipe up yourself? I can't see my movie, I can't hear!" It made me laugh, she asked me in really nice voice.
Another thing she said the other day, I was giving her a bath and Ray was playing in the drawers and cabinets in the bathroom pulling everything out and I said to him, "Geez kid!" and Lola said, "Jesus, kid!" and I said, "Lola, we don't say that." she said, "Sorry Mom." I thought it was smart of her because they have the same sound. She for the most part tries really hard to please me and she is so sweet. Anytime I say my stomach or head aches she is always quick to rub it for me. Sometimes when she is making me upset, and I say, "Lola, you are not making me happy!" she gets really sad and sometimes tears up and says, "Mom will you be nice to me? and "do you love me?" and I always reply, "if you will listen, then I will be nice, and I will always love you." It then, she says, "I will listen!" (It really pulls on my heart, I know she really wants me to be happy with her, she really cares about what I think and feel, she is a good girl.) It lasts about 30 minutes then I have to go through it all again. (short attention span!)
Here are some pictures of my new short hair, Thanks Heidi I love it!
I couldn't resist throwing this silly one in of Ray in Grandpa Dick's hat and Glasses, he looks pretty awesome!

Lola

Yesterday we were in the car on our way home from a family party and Lola said, "Mom will you give me a favor?" I said, "what do you want me to give you?" she said, "I'm so sleepy and creepy!" I said, "Sleepy and creepy?" she said, "yeah, sleepy and creepy and all that!" I'm not sure what she means by creepy, or why she asked for a favor, but it makes me laugh! Then I was getting her into her jammies and I was commenting on how long her legs are getting (she is no longer my chubby little girl) and she said, "yeah, my legs are creepy long!"

You say apologize, Lola says, "pologize." A few days ago I had her help me wash the car and when we were finished, Lola insisted on carrying the sponges around and she said to me, "these are my pologize friends" (talking about the sponges) then Ray took one from her and she said, "give me back my pologize!" It makes me laugh that she uses words in the completly wrong context (she gets that from her momma!)

She makes me Laugh!

I have really been slacking about writing the things down that Lola says and does, I am going to try to do better. A while back I posted about Lola giving everything the name Sodyona, I don't know why, but it is still her favorite. Last week she was going to the bathroom and Tony was in helping her and she went poo, Tony was totally flabbergasted at what he saw, he said to her, "That is a monster poo Lola!" and she said, "I call that Monster Sodyona!"

She is so funny, lately she has been telling me what to say, EXAMPLE- I will be changing Ray's bum and she will say, "I'm going to get Ray a toy so he will hold still, tell Ray I am getting him a toy!" As if he can't hear her saying it when she is right there next to him. Another one- Ray will do something funny and Lola will start to Laugh, then she will say, "tell Ray I am laughing" It totally makes me laugh, does she think he can't hear her laughing and that he can only hear me telling him that she is laughing!?

She loves to dance and when I turn down the radio for any reason she promptly tells me to turn it back up. When we are in the car heading to a store and about to get out she will say, "can we stay in the car until this song is over" then she will ask me to dance with her in our seats, it is so funny to watch her dance in her car seat, she really can bust a move!

Today she was out heping me work in the yard, I was trying to soften up the dirt in our soon to e flower bed and each time I would stick the shovel in and pull out a clump of dirt she would get so excited and and run over to me and pick up a dirt claud and say, "look what I found, it's my magic, it's mine cuz I found it." She is so fun that way, she is always making up stories and she get so animated and excited about things, she is a fun funny girl!

P.S. Lola loves Dragons right now, we have to make up several dragon stories a day, she can't get enough of them!

Ray- just started to say uh-oh, and it is really cute.
also I cut his hair and I am really sad about it! I will post pictures later.

Somebody stop me!

Over the last ten years (pretty much) I have been trying to grow my hair out, with no success. I have one bad hair day and I can't contain myself, I grab the scissors and that's the end of it! So since last June I decided I needed to go to a professional hairstylist, lucky for me I have a great friend (Heidi-pants) who does hair so I have been going to her since then. I have only given myself a few small trims in between visits to her, and have felt pretty confident that I was finally going to have the long layered hairstyle that I have been waiting for all these years. Well, that all came to an end last week. I was packing all my things getting ready to head to Delta for a few days and I decided I needed a trim and thin my hair out a little bit, so I parted my hair off and carefully trimmed and thinned my hair layer by layer as I went, when I got to the top layer, I trimmed the ends off and then I grabbed a large section of hair on the back of my head that I was going to thin (while I was cutting my hair my kids were running around me pulling on my pant legs and asking for EVERYTHING!)and I grabbed the wrong scissors! I chopped it off and some of the pieces are only two inches long, I can't believe I did that! So I had to cut my hair back into an a-line (again!) and it is still really uneven, but I have scheduled an appointment with Heidi and I really hope Tony will hide my scissors!

Just making faces!
This was me the day I cut (chopped!) my hair, it was getting so long, sad! I will post pictures as soon as I get it cut, professionally that is!

Yada,yada, yada!

Our bathroom is coming right along, we have been taking strictly baths at our house for almost 2 months, we are so happy to finally have the tile in and the shower head back on, yeah for showers!

We are still using a towel for a bathroom door and I'm actually going to miss it, it has been really convienent for drying our hands on the way out, and also great for games of peek-a-boo with little Ray boy- good times!
Playing with Cousins is always a great time!
My little cheese-eaten posers!

I'm caught up!

Yesterday was so beautiful we went to the park and had a really good time. Can it be nice and stay nice please?! I love the summer because trips to the park lead to long naps and a big break fo me. While at the park I ran into an old friend (Shanda Sue) it was her son Conner's Birthday, it was really funny because I ran into her last year on the same day same place. So I will plan on seeing you there next year Shanda!

Here is what happens at my house when you leave to go Grocery shopping!

I left to Walmart for about an hour and came home to this! Tony completely gutted our bathroom. It has been a dusty mess around here for the last couple of weeks and our bathroom situation has been pretty interesing to say the least. We have a towel for a door (No privacy) and we don't have any knobs on the tub so we have to us a wrench to turn the water on and off, it is pretty sweet. Tony just put in our new tub last Friday, it is a deeper soaking tub and it has been really nice, I can't wait until it is all the way done, it is hard to live like this with kids. I love that I have a talented motivated husband to do this kind of stuff, it really has been fun fixing up this very very old house!

Easter Fun!

We had a really fun Easter this year. We left our house early Saturday Morning for the big Easter egg hunt in Marysvale, it is fun because they have all sorts of toys and candy spread all over the park. When we got there everything was pretty much gone, and we were two minutes early (small towns are funny like that) Lola got three pieces of candy and someone gave Jesse one of their stuffed animals. We drove almost 2 and a half hours on hardly any sleep (Tony ripped apart our bathroom the night before- pictures to come) for three hersheys kisses. But Grandma and Grandpa made up for it and had a really fun egg hunt with toys, candy and quarters, the kids loved it. We also had a fun Birthday party for Jesse he is now 4 and funny as ever, Happy Birthday Jesse!

Story time and hide and go seek with Grandma Jane.
Cute new Easter clothes and swimsuits from Grandma and Grandpa.
Coloring eggs and the egg hunt. I don't think Lola could carry one more thing!
Goofy egg head bands on some goofy kids! Lola and Jesse Blowing bubbles-serious concentration Lola and Jesse being silly!

Provo Half Marathon!

I know what you guys are thinking, "I didn't know that Carrie was a runner?" That is because, I am not! The last week of February my sister Chellese posted on her blog that she was going to do this half marathon the first week in April, well I decided that I wanted to do something like this that would force me to exercise, so I decided to do it and I paid the registration fee and ran that day (about 2 miles) and a couple days later I ran again (about 2 and 1/2 miles) keep in mind that I really haven't been exercising so I felt pretty good about making it that far. Then on the 5th of march I found out that I was pregnant, so I felt like I shouldn't push myself too hard. Then the following week on the 10th I ended up miscarrying which I was OK with, (bummed, but felt like it was supposed to happen) but then I couldn't run for about another week, so I ran a total of four times before the race, and the farthest I had ran was 4 miles. The day before the race my shoes were really bothering me and I also had a blister on the back of my heel so I decided to by new shoes the night before. I also had a wart on the ball of my foot that was really bugging me, but I couldn't get it removed because it was too close to race time and I wouldn't be able to run on it. Also, I NEVER get diarrhea and right before I did, (Seriously, what the H? the universe was working against me!) sorry for all the details. Anyway, the day of the race came (April 4th) it was snowing and freezing cold. My goal was to make it to the halfway point (6.55 miles) before I stopped to walk, I felt pretty good that I made it 7.5 miles before I stopped, my knee started to hurt at mile seven, but I walked only short periods. It was funny I kept singing songs in my head like, "I'm a survivor, I'm gonna make it, I'm a survivor, keep on surviving, I'm not, gonna give up , I'm gonna work harder!" and I also sang the ABC"S and head shoulders knee's and toes ( I think I need to get an MP3 player!) This is also where old ladies and really heavy people started to pass me and I seriously couldn't keep up with them, it was pretty discouraging, and motivating at the same time. When I got to mile 11 I stopped to shake my leg, to see if I could make the pain go away in my knee and I made it worse I didn't think I was going to be able to walk, I was mad at myself, because I knew I wouldn't be able to make my goal of 2 hours and 15 min, but I didn't want to do any permanent damage so I took it easy and ran carefully and somehow was able to cross the finish line. I made it in 2 hours 33 mins and I felt okay with that considering I was VERY unprepared and I stopped for a bathroom break, dang poop, slowing me down! Now I am excited to try another one in August (hobble creek) it is supposed to be a good one to start out on because it is all downhill, so if anyone wants to do it with me, I would love it! P.S. Thanks Chellese for doing this with me, you rock (under 2 hours!) it was fun and painful, and I love you!

Family pictures -kinda (Collage, Minus Tony) Ha!

So If you guys know Tony then you know he refuses to do the whole"Family Picture" thing.
I am realizing that I am not getting any younger (especially this year, gray hair, wrinkles, etc...)
and that my kids won't have anything to look back on to see what I used to look like when they were young. So I have been attempting to take pictures of myself with them, which isn't very much fun, but until I can convince my better half to do some family pics this is what you get! A few Utah photographers have put out a challenge to take photos with your kids (one or all) once a week, and post them for the whole year, so this is what I am trying to do, and you all should do it too. I think it will be fun to look back on these when I am 80 and completely saggy, half blind/deaf, and gray-haired and see that I was young and silly once. My Mom has also commented to me on several occasions that I need to put pictures of Tony and I on here, since it is the Goulding family blog, so here you go Mommy! P.S. I took a side shot of myself (up in the top right corner) because I had a boyfriend once that told me I was beautiful from the side, I have always thought that was so funny, and he was always trying to get pictures of me from the side (it should be a Seinfeld episode or something) It makes me laugh out loud just thinking about it. I used to joke that if we got married we could send out announcements with a profile picture of me and a straight shot of him- kinda funny. I actually have to agree with him though, I think I look much better from the side ,but only my left side, the right not so good! Geez, will I ever feel comfortable in my own skin, can I just be a little kid again?!
